Japan trip loots
by Wolfheinrich on Aug.24, 2009, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen
Some of you who have been following my blog would know that I have just traveled to Japan recently for a super condensed sight seeing and shopping trip. I have a set of mission objectives that I wanted to accomplish, and I have managed to finish most of them by Saturday night Japan time. But how can it be? There are only 3 real days to work with, I have to be back in the airport before noon on Sunday. As I reveal the details of my complete walk-through of my super condensed Japan trip, it will become more obvious!
- See the Odaiba Gundam
- Watch the Kamen Rider movie
- Watch the Evangelion 2.0 movie You can (not) advance
- Shopping in Akihabara
- Shopping for Dollfie Clothes and appropriate size Rider belts
- Go to a maid cafe
I am fairly proud to say that I have accomplished every one of the above objectives even though this trip was so short. For starter, I am going to cover my loots during this trip and I will expand onto some of the finer details of my experience of my super condensed, super fast pace first trip to Japan. Without further ado, let me get started. First is the grand scale loots!
Obviously, you can’t really see anything like this, so let me break them down into their categories.
Dollfie Fate and Dollfie Nanoha details and July loots
by Wolfheinrich on Jul.04, 2009, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen, Photo Shoot & Review
Alright, so I had a good night of sleep and lunch, it’s time to do a proper inspection on the mega loots I received yesterday. As part of the July 4th Independence Day long weekend, I had a day off from work yesterday. I guess it was a coincident that Dollfie Fate and Dollfie Nanoha, one from Volks Japan, another one from Volks USA would ended up arriving on the same day, everything just worked out the way I wanted! The only problem was that the UPS driver didn’t show up until late in the afternoon so I couldn’t start the the inspection until after dinner. Hobby Search came through with a package of their own as well, let’s take a look at them.

Obviously, the main attractions this time are DD Feito and DD Nanoha, but we have also got Feena cushion cover Moonlight Cradle version and a few Cospa cushions which has been out of stock at Hobby Search for some time now.
Edit: Added revised group photo, previous one was too cram.
Dollfie Dream Completion Project arrival and other loots
by Wolfheinrich on Jun.05, 2009, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen, Photo Shoot & Review
Despite my main computer went down, loots have been arriving non stop for the past week… now that my computer is fixed, it’s finally time to reveal the result of my Dollfie Dream Completion Project. I borrowed the name “completion project” from Evangelion, straightly in a sense, trying to “rescue” the lovely Dollfie Dream from their original boxes and adopt them as my musumes!
Just who are the mysterious Dollfie Dream? You about to find out (not like my picture didn’t give them away lol).
Dollfie Dream Completion Project
by Wolfheinrich on May.15, 2009, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen, Project
For the past few days I have been busy putting up the new loots I have acquired from Anime Central Convention (and to take a well earned break from all that Yoake Mae Yori Ruriiro na story summaries), but at the same time, I have been planning my next major move. Some of you are probably aware that I have recently adopted Dollfie Dream Dynamite Escalayer and I have been extremely pleased with her as my first musume.
My next major project, has been given the code name DDCP, also known as Dollfie Dream Completion Project has already been set in motion for a few days now, an unprecedented level of funding has already been approved as part of this project.
And to quote one of the most heart felt statements I have seen recently from browsing through Dollfie Dream related blog sites:
I give up. I saw pics of Rin Tosaka, Fate Testarossa, Nanoha Takamachi, Nagisa Furikawa, and Yoko/Nia Dollfie Dreams on Dannychoo. I just give up. I love Dollfie Dreams. They give you so much more then static figures and statues can. The detail and realism. They are so lifelike. And most importantly, they are 100% more moe then anime figures. -Punynari,Moé Passion
I can’t help it but to agree with Punynari, Dollfie Dream takes the Anime Figure collecting to the next level. I used to not like dolls, like those made by Azone but the Volks Dollfie Dream line is different, I believe they are made to target Otaku like myself, with extremely well made and high quality doll-figure (where the word Dollfie comes from). It is not to far outstretch to call them the ultimate figurine (to date) of your favorite 2D girls/Bishoujo. In a recent Dannychoo.com post of the Realistic Yoko Figure from Max Factory, I see a lot of people commented about how the realistic Yoko doesn’t look Yoko anymore and anime heroines should retain their anime look, etc. This is where Dollfie Dream really shine, they provide a solution to the life like anime figure that most Otaku like myself would prefer Dollfie Yoko.
I am sold, I am under the Dollfie Dream Fever right now, I am finding myself not getting as excited about PVC figurines as I have been in the past. May 15th will be the one of the biggest day in recent months as Volks USA will announce the lottery result of the Doll Party 21 limited items. I have submitted my entry for both Fate T Harlaown from Nanoha StrikerS and Rin Tohsaka from Fate Stay Night. Let see if I get lucky this time and won’t have to go to aftermarket auction site to get my Dollfie Dream fix
Dollfie Dream Dynamite Escalayer and early May loots

The month long Yoake Mae Yori Ruriiro na (PC2005), Brighter than dawning blue (PS2->PC 2009) and Yoake Mae Yori Ruriiro na ~Moonlight Cradle~(PC2009) visual novel marathon plus the odds and ends of summarizing Feena normal end, Natsuki and Estel storyline has finally come to an end.
I am happy that I dug deep and stuck with it, and I enjoyed the time I spent summarizing their stories; it really gave me a reason to try to understand their stories a lot more than I usually would have. I have yet to finish Feena’s true arc summary, something I intend to do in the near future. I have accomplished my goal of bringing the stories of these wonderful heroines to light, that’s one down on my to do list.
Now I should present my treasures of the month… this month will be crazy, yea I said it. Three boxes are up for inspection, the hobby search box has arrived a few days ago but I have put off the inspection until I finished Moonlight Cradle, plus the package yesterday that I picked up at the post office today and the package that arrived today.
Moonlight & Earthlight – Yoake Mae Yori Ruriiro na Moonlight Cradle
by Wolfheinrich on May.06, 2009, under Eroge PC Game, Otaku Home screen
It’s been almost a month now since I started this Yoake Mae Yori Ruriiro na Visual Novel marathon run project, it’s finally coming close to an end. I have just completed Cynthia Marguerite’s arc and the final arc Moonlight and & Earthlight is finally opened to me.
Moonlight Cradle takes on a completely different approach from the original game, I have to clear everyone before Feena’s after story is open to me. All in all, Moonlight Cradle is very short and get to the point since the story and setting is basically the same as the original game. But before I talk about anything else, I need to give the Marguerite Sisters an honorable mention.
I guess I wasn’t prepared for sad endings, I felt a little sad when I finished Lease/Wreathlit/Fiacca’s ending, but not until I began Cynthia’s arc do I truly understand what’s really going on. The older sister Fiacca, transformed herself into a data bank and lived on as memory for the past 700 years to watch over humankind to help preserve peace and the Lost Techology; the younger sister Cynthia, in order to protect the dimensional portal she invented, sealed herself in the portal terminal (where time does not flow) so her invention couldn’t be used in the previous war. I am quite easily moved by this self-sacrificial acts, especially those that last hundreds of years with no end in sight, yet they had to do it because it’s the right thing to do (Think Gunbuster OVA3). If anything else, I would really like to see a Cynthia figure so I can keep her in my collection, only then would I be able to neutralize the sadness I felt when I saw her ending. I liked her story but at the same time, I don’t necessarily like the sad ending. It’s a good thing that I can start Feena’s final arc right the way; otherwise, I would be upset for the rest of the night.
Anyway, to break off from the visual novel for a bit. Tonight was suppose to be the night I meet my adopted daughter (dollfie) but all I got was this dreaded note from the post office.
Alas, that just meet I need to go to the post office first thing in the morning! Alright, I should go back to finish Feena’s final arc before it’s too late.
Feena’s normal end,Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na, 夜明け前より瑠璃色な
by Wolfheinrich on May.04, 2009, under Eroge PC Game, Otaku Home screen
It’s been almost two weeks since I started this Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na Visual Novel marathon run project which includes the original Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na Visual Novel (2005) August soft, Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na -Brighter than dawning blue- (2009) Aria soft and Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na -Moonlight Cradle- (2009) August soft, it’s a massive undertaking that I have never attempted before. But after over a week worth of effort, I am finally getting close to the midway point. This project really started when I redecorated my room with three Feena fam Earthlight Dakimakuras and one bath towel, then all of a sudden I wondered about how much do I really know about her. Sure I have watched Brighter than dawning blue ~Cresent Love~ but that may not be adequate given the amount collector’s items I have on her and the fact that the animation may not represent the game character adequately. On top of that, I have always been curious about the 2nd tier heroine Natsuki Takamizawa and the new cast from PS2 port Estel Freesia. All that curiosity became a massive determination to drive me to work on all three Visual Novels in a row.
The effort really paid off, I really enjoyed the games so far, the games frequently put you in the main character’s shoes and have confronted you with questions that don’t have a clear cut answer. After I finished Feena’s normal end and Natsuki’s end, I started talking about Natsuki’s story in an earlier post while I really should have started from the beginning and give the proper background information regarding the the whole story. Without further ado, let me set the record straight once and for all.
Update: I have updated this page to include some of my other posts related to the game
Edit: Re-publish and sticky post to include Bonus Wallpaper from Moonlight Cradle Premium box

Warning, this post is massive and full of spoilers, intended for those who want to learn the story but have no way of playing the game.
Estel Freesia’s end, Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na, 夜明け前より瑠璃色な
by Wolfheinrich on May.02, 2009, under Eroge PC Game, Otaku Home screen
Alright, so I finally made it to the new cast on the PS2 port version Estel Freesia. What can I say about her? Estel is quite a tsundere, more than Natsuki (especially after I started her Moonlight Cradle arc) and definitely a tough nut to crack! I am going to try a slightly different approach and compact her story a bit more, Feena’s story was way too long and I probably had way too much details in the last writeup.
Before I dig into Estel’s story, allow me give a brief explanation of the moon church. 静寂の月光 (Silent Moonlight) is the main religion in the Kingdom of Sphere and it’s divided into 3 branches: Internal Affair, which handles personnel assignment; External Affair, which deals with the more political ends of the church, this particular division of the church is highly dependent on personal connection and basically it’s only for people with connections; and Lost Technology, which safe guard and handle the the remaining technology from the pre-war period. Needless to say, the Kingdom of Sphere cannot survive without Silent Moonlight because if the Lost Technology is not operational, the Moon is basically uninhabitable.
Estel Freesia was a recent graduate of the moon church academy, she graduated top of her class but she was assigned to City of Mitsurugasaki instead of the External Affair division that she applied for because of her orphanage background. She is hard working, and a generally honest girl that has a problem accepting her past (the fact that she was demoted to Earth did not help at all). This mental barrier prevented Estel from being honest with herself. She was raised in an orphanage along with Karen after she was found near a church by high priest Moritz Zabel Frantz (whom Estel considered as her foster father) when she was still a baby. She idolized Karen for being able to advance her career despite her upbringing and she vowed to achieve the same result as Karen by going through a different path. Estel can be rather confrontational when it comes down to matters regarding Earth and Earthlings because of the highly competitive moon church academy environment she studied in. Estel is beautiful just like Feena but her personality has a slight tilt towards tsundere and has been seen hitting Tatsuya with various objects whenever he did something to spite her. She is a dog lover though, especially puppy. She has been studying very hard since her assignment to Earth in order to try to get reassigned away from Earth.
Estel’s storyline branches off Feena’s story and Tatsuya first ran into her when he was on his way back home after delivering dinner to Sayaka in the Royal Moon Museum within the Lunarian Residential District.

End of April loots
by Wolfheinrich on Apr.26, 2009, under Otaku Home screen, Photo Shoot & Review
Finally finished up with Feena’s normal end summary, this will definitely make me think twice about covering a story as long as Feena’s normal arc next time, the game play alone was well over 15 hours for me, obviously it would take much longer than that to finish a summary, why didn’t I think of that ;s
Anyway, as we approach the end of April, more loots arrived yesterday and here we go with the inspection. Another box was supposed to have arrived, but due to my extreme fatigue in writing Feena’s story, I was unable to hear the door bell, ala, I guess I will pick up Yami next week at the post office.
Upon inspection, we have…
Brighter than dawning blue – Brighter than dawning blue arc completed
by Wolfheinrich on Apr.18, 2009, under Eroge PC Game, Otaku Home screen
Finally, I finished the true episode, Brighter than dawning blue arc today. I would like to give it some thought before I finish Feena’s story since the true episode is completely different from the anime counterpart. The similarity between the game and the anime fell apart after Karen took off for the moon. The end result may be the same, but the process to get there is completely different!
Update: I have updated this post to include some of my other posts related to the game
Feena fam Earthlight’s normal ending
For now, I am moving on to the PS2 port version because I have to replay Feena’s arc again to better refresh my memory and to get to Estel Freesia. Stay tune for an update on Feena’s story and Estel Freesia later on
