Volks Doll Party 22 & White Album Dollfie Dream
by Wolfheinrich on Nov.15, 2009, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen
I have let myself gone a tad lazy for the past couple of days, I have been wanting to write an article about PVC figure aging based on suggestions from blogging comrade blowfish, but alas, I am still procrastinating over it because I have been mostly occupied by the news of Dolpa 22 and the new White Album Dollfie Dream releases~
A bunch of us in the flickr group have started to speculate over what Dollfie Dream might be coming out in the winter doll party, the first clue we had came about a little over a week ago when we found out about the White Album webpage that didn’t have any images on it at the time, however, as more information became available, the White Album Dollfie Dream were not due to come out in this upcoming Dolpa but instead a web order exclusive project similar to that of the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann DD Project.
Initially, I was very hesitant about the story of White Album after reading some online review about it, but my mind began to sway when I was presented with the project image…. these are some really good Dollfie Dream candidates… and at the very minimum, these idol style clothing would fit my Dollfie Dream daughters very well! After a few more conversation with a few figure.fm members, I decided I have to at learn about Rina and Yuki despite the fact that I may not be very interested in the plot of the story (based on my understanding thus far, the main protagonist is a real prick…. all of the guys were real prick…, why… I want to read about some decent/hotblood guy doing his best, not a real prick getting involved in multiple women!). Anyway, I have already decided to at least see what kind of girls 森川 由綺 Morikawa Yuki and 緒方 理奈 Ogata Rina are, then so be it.
Dollfie Dream Sasara X Dollfie Dream Sasara
by Wolfheinrich on Nov.05, 2009, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen
A few days ago I have briefly mentioned in figure.fm that my 2nd Sasara from Volks USA lottery was due to arrive in a few days, well, today is the day. But why do I have a 2nd Sasara? Am I crazy? Madness? Insane? No, I had legitimate reason to do that, well, before Dollfie Dream Gathering announced that they are releasing DDDy body as a standard item that is. And to make a long story short, I am willing to consider putting up my 2nd Sasara up for adoption since there is no strong reason I have to keep her as parts anymore and I would much rather have someone who missed out on their chance to get their own Sasara to become her new parent. And on top of there, a few figure.fm members have exhibited interest in adopting Sasara from me so I am writing this post to offer this chance to everyone to figure.fm and readers of my own blog.

It is my duty to find her a new loving home so I can’t just let her to go to any random family, definitely no to Dollfie Dream Sharks or Dollfie Dream Molester
(You may also notice there is also a Dollfie Dream Louise in the package, but she is not for me, I am holding her for a friend I owe a favor to for the next 6 months).
Mid May loot inspection round 2

Still in the middle of planning my come back strategy on adopting Rin Tosaka Dollfie Dream, whether I should go straight to Yahoo Japan Auction (a few Rin Tosaka DD has already popped up on Yahoo Japan Auction but they all come at a ridiculous price, some even ask for as much as 90000yen for a 50000yen Dollfie Rin, no thanks, I am not in that much of a hurry!), or try to take a shot at the After event items, still undecided. In the mean time, two of boxes have arrived for inspection for the month of May, this is the 3nd round of loots arrival for the month so far. Let’s take a look at what we have here:
Yahoo Japan Auction and I
by Wolfheinrich on May.07, 2009, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen
Today I would like to take a moment to talk about my most recent experience with Yahoo Japan Auction and the shopping deputy service that I chose for this transaction – Goody Japan
I am sure I am not the only otaku who would like to get their hands on a limited release character goods that are only available in Japan, or somehow you miss out on an item and it’s nowhere to be found on the internet and the only place it’s available for aftermarket auction is in Japan. Yahoo Japan Auction is by far the most popular auction site in Japan, have a limited released item you missed out? The chances is you may just find it in Yahoo Japan Auction. However, due to language barrier and the fact most sellers won’t ship oversea, it present a huge problem for people like me who have no relatives or friends who live in Japan.
In this particular example, I somehow missed out an opportunity to get my hands on a Dollfie Dream Dynamite Escalayer (that was available in USA… but I somehow missed out on it regardless! Silly me). Anyway, there were a few listing in ebay where I could have gotten my hands on the dollfie but their markup premium was close to 40% (about $890 auction for a dollfie and the listed price in the USA website was $638), which made it very difficult for me to accept. My searches have led me to Yahoo Japan Auction and I was willing to wait for the right price, some listing was much as 110000 yen and obviously I wasn’t willing to pay that much either. I have looked at some old auction listing and some of them were in the range of 68000 yen to low 70k, so I made up my mind that if I saw an auction like that again, I would go for it. The wait didn’t take long, I finally came across this auction:
Dollfie Dream Dynamite Escalayer and early May loots

The month long Yoake Mae Yori Ruriiro na (PC2005), Brighter than dawning blue (PS2->PC 2009) and Yoake Mae Yori Ruriiro na ~Moonlight Cradle~(PC2009) visual novel marathon plus the odds and ends of summarizing Feena normal end, Natsuki and Estel storyline has finally come to an end.
I am happy that I dug deep and stuck with it, and I enjoyed the time I spent summarizing their stories; it really gave me a reason to try to understand their stories a lot more than I usually would have. I have yet to finish Feena’s true arc summary, something I intend to do in the near future. I have accomplished my goal of bringing the stories of these wonderful heroines to light, that’s one down on my to do list.
Now I should present my treasures of the month… this month will be crazy, yea I said it. Three boxes are up for inspection, the hobby search box has arrived a few days ago but I have put off the inspection until I finished Moonlight Cradle, plus the package yesterday that I picked up at the post office today and the package that arrived today.
