Hello again everyone, Fräulein Asuka is back for the last trip report.  Papa wanted to say sorry for those of you who tried to get on this site but couldn’t in the last day or so, the web hosting service side was having some problem and caused anything related to the wordpress database to slow to a crawl; over 90% of the query to the database would time out.  Papa has implemented several improvements on the site which included installing Wordpress Super Cache so hopefully it won’t go down like that again in the near future.  Anyway, enough chit chat, I am here to deliver the last trip report for Papa’s recent trip to Japan, you can read the Day 1 report here and Day 2 report here.

Day 3 was actually a bonus day for Papa since the original plan he made with Fumoffu didn’t include this day, so it was a last minute thing but Papa would take it anyway since he had been enjoying his stay in Japan and actually would loved to spend an extra day there!  The agenda for Day 3 was to visit areas that wasn’t included in Day 1 and Day 2, and Papa really wanted to visit the Volks store in Harajuku since it was only two JR stations away from his hotel in Shinjuku.

Ok!  The time to retire my Sony Cybershot DSC-F707 has finally come.  Especially after my trip to Japan, the limitation of the 128MB memory was painfully obvious.  While I think I somehow managed to take a few “decent shot” with this camera,

Hi there, my name is Fräulein Asuka-chan, I have been assigned the duty of writing this trip report to Japan for Papa, why me you said?  Well, I was picked from the handful of articulated figures from Papa’s collection to travel with him during this trip to Japan, there were stiff competitions from Figma Saber and Figma Feito, but I won at the end due to the fact that I have been Papa’s favorite for much longer than Saber and Feito.

Japan trip loots

Some of you who have been following my blog would know that I have just traveled to Japan recently for a super condensed sight seeing and shopping trip.  I have a set of mission objectives that I wanted to accomplish, and I have managed to finish most of them by Saturday night Japan time.  But how can it be?  There are only 3 real days to work with, I have to be back in the airport before noon on Sunday.  As I reveal the details of my complete walk-through of my super condensed Japan trip, it will become more obvious!

  1. See the Odaiba Gundam
  2. Watch the Kamen Rider movie
  3. Watch the Evangelion 2.0 movie You can (not) advance
  4. Shopping in Akihabara
  5. Shopping for Dollfie Clothes and appropriate size Rider belts
  6. Go to a maid cafe

I am fairly proud to say that I have accomplished every one of the above objectives even though this trip was so short.  For starter, I am going to cover my loots during this trip and I will expand onto some of the finer details of my experience of my super condensed, super fast pace first trip to Japan.  Without further ado, let me get started.  First is the grand scale loots!

Obviously, you can’t really see anything like this, so let me break them down into their categories.

Saw Danny’s post on the Gundam Opening Ceremony on dannychoo.com, it’s just way too cool not to hijack his post XD.

Here are some youtube video of the ceremony, please visit dannychoo.com for more details on this awesome display of the 1:1 Gundam.

It’s like a festival going on here, I have got to find a way to go to Japan before end of August.

Odaiba Gundam

Seems like everyone has gone crazy with the Odaiba Gundam these past couple of days.  Thanks to comrade wcloudx from Dannychoo.com, someone has recorded a video of the Gundam in action complete with steam action and sound effect!  I wish I can see this in person, but my planned Japan trip doesn’t happen until October, here is a wish that they changed their mind and keep it up for a little longer!

And while I am at this, some pictures I snatched off the Internet with the Gundam lit up!

Here is hoping that Odaiba Gundam would be popular enough that they change their mind and try to keep it up for longer period of time, however, with the harsh winter coming up.  I doubt the moving parts and the electronics can survive.  Perhaps they should also build a white base to keep the Gundam inside!  Just kidding… but the idea of keeping up must come with a plan to maintain it for long period of time, perhaps some sort of shelter (or even a tent would do!) to help it survive the winter snow?
