Volks USA Customer Gallery – Flowery Maid
by Wolfheinrich on Jan.03, 2010, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen
One of my greatest joy, as a father of 10 Dollfie Dream Daughters (soon to be 12~), for me at least, is to capture their various images in different environments. Dollfie Dream might not have swappable heads like a figma, but a slight turn of head can easily give off a different aura for any particular photo~
Soon after sending in my first customer gallery submission to Volks USA, I have been thinking about sending the photos I took for Asuka back in late September 2009, some of which I consider as my best work to-date. I am really proud of how Asuka look in that pink flower bed, I really do! The staffs at Volks USA were once again very responsive to my submission and told me they will put the pictures up in a few days and sure enough, my 2nd daughter Asuka is featured on their Sumika Times Blog today

A few days ago I sent my White Album Dollfie Dream Support Message to Volks USA to show my appreciation and support for their White Album Project. The staffs at Volks USA really appreciated my message and told me they would forward my message to their team in Japan. Today, they posted the pictures of my girls in their Sumika Times Blog page!
White Album Dollfie Dream Support Message~
by Wolfheinrich on Dec.27, 2009, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen
For those of you who are familiar with my habit, you would probably know that I have fairly strict requirements for knowing the personality and character of a Dollfie Dream before I decide to adopt them, for example, when Volks announced ToHeart 2 Kusugawa Sasara Dollfie Dream, I cast almost everything aside and focused on learning about Sasara. The situation is fairly similar for the White Album Dollfie Dream, I wasn’t too impressed with the story outline at first and thought it is one of those typical harem anime… but a few punchi blurbers in figure.fm have convinced me to at least give the White Album anime a try because they felt I would like Ogata Rina. It didn’t take very long for me to completely fall for Rina’s character, she is intriguing, elegant, beautiful, have more balls than all the men combined in the show! She is most definitely one of the most awesome bishoujo characters I have seen in recent memory. It is very refreshing to see a character like Rina to rise from the recently saturated market of “moe” characters. We need more characters like Rina in anime!
Anyway, after about half way into the White Album anime, I have already decided to take Rina home at the first available opportunity. You might have noticed the White Album Dollfie Dream Support banner in my side bar already
I have been checking the White Album Dollfie Dream page daily as well as the Dollfie Dream blog for any available information, I tracked back to the Yoko/Nia release schedule step by step and determined that we will see something by the end of the year at least and sure enough, Volks has announced more details about 10 days ago in the White Album Dollfie Dream Update that they will be releasing the schedule by the end of the year.
To show our appreciation and support for the White Album design team, my daughters have prepared their very own special message!
Dollfie Dream Daughters Glorious Gathering Group Photo~
by Wolfheinrich on Dec.26, 2009, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen
Those of you who are familiar with my habit, you would probably know that a new full family daughters group shots are coming soon, that’s right! I love doing group shots and since I already had 5 of them in a group photo, it just feel wrong not to bring the other girls into the picture! Building on the Christmas Theme Photo shoot yesterday, I present to you, the latest Dollfie Dream Daughters Glorious Gathering Group Photo~ Also known as DDDGGG.
Some of you with good memory would remember that I have been wanting to do the full family group photo for a long time, but losing out on Natsuki in the Dollfie Dream Gathering had put a huge delay in that plan, but fortunately, Volks USA came thru and beat their own schedule and had Natsuki arrived before Christmas~
Merry Christmas from my Dollfie Dream Daughters and Natsuki Arrival
by Wolfheinrich on Dec.25, 2009, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen
I have been planning a Christmas Theme Photo shoot for some time now, I even picked up a few Santa girl outfit from the Volks Store about a month ago, but the filming of the last edition of the Dollfie Dream Theater (a whopping 46 frames story) has pushed the Christmas Theme Shooting out to the very last minute…. and coinciding with the arriving of my 10th Dollfie Dream Daughter just right before Christmas, I have prepared a special treat for you all~ please enjoy~
Natsuki wasn’t suppose to arrive until next year according to Volks USA schedule, I guess they somehow beat their own schedule by a month, not that I am complaining… I would much rather being able to spend Christmas with all 10 daughters instead of 9

Dollfie Dream Theater – The New Scenario
by Wolfheinrich on Dec.25, 2009, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen
After taking a prolonged break from filming the Dollfie Dream Theater, I have finally picked myself up and continue on the story that has been in the planning stage for several months. It was sort of difficult to get back into the swing of things at first, but I have finally managed to finish this part of the story just right before Christmas. So, without further ado, let me present to you the latest edition of the Dollfie Dream Theater – The New Scenario (in celebration for Christmas, it’s the extra long edition!)
For those of you who have lost track on where the story was, please visit LightningSabre’s blog for the conclusion of the Dollfie Dream Theater X Melancholy of Saber Lily.
Dollfie Dream Family Photo + DD Gathering Update + OTACOOL
by Wolfheinrich on Oct.31, 2009, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen
I originally planned to hold on to this group photo session before the Dollfie Dream Theater storyline has a chance to catch up and introduce the new character as a surprise element, but Volks USA has informed me yesterday that I have just hit the “surprise element” deadline >.>;;; Anyway, the long and short of it is that I have picked up a 2nd Sasara back in Hometown Nagoya 4 After Event party… but why should I do that? Well, I originally did that because I have no spare parts for DDDy body, so I thought it wouldn’t be a bad idea to pick up a 2nd DDDy body… of course DD Gathering released DDDy body as normal item, so that blew my plan out of the water. But I kept my silence and was hoping to introduce Sasara in the Dollfie Dream Theater as a surprise character, however, Volks USA announced yesterday that they have begun sending Sasara to USA lottery winners >.>; exactly a month earlier than what they had promised.. so my so called surprised plan is not going to work anymore >.>; So, there isn’t any reason for me to hold on to this group photo anymore.
I was hoping to be able to pick up Natsuki and use this photo to celebrate the arrival of 10th daughter, but most of you already knew that didn’t work out too well since DD Gathering open web order is ruthless to anyone outside of Japan.
I included the “original” Asuka oneesan in this photo because it fit the screen better this way~ It took me quite a bit of time to balance every daughters and have them sit where I want them to be @.@;
As usual, click on the image to bring up the full scale image stored in my flickr account. I really love how the photos turns out with my Nikon D5000 and my light umbrella set from Cowboy Studio.
Hikari Photo Studio Upgrade Part 2
by Wolfheinrich on Oct.17, 2009, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen, Photo Shoot & Review, Product review
Thank you for those who has taken the time to provide some valuable feedback to me regarding the Hikari Photo Studio upgrade (in reality, just an exercise to fine tune my Nikon D5000 for indoor photography by using the Nikon Software Camera Control Pro 2.5 along with my Cowboy Studio light umbrella set) , special thanks to figure.fm comrades Otaku Dan, Rochefort Schubaltz, Tequila and Koshiko for providing valuable opinions for me to improve my Hikari Photo Studio. I spent the better part of today making various adjustments based on those feedback and I’m back to report the progress I have made so far! For comparison sake, most of these shots feature my lovely daughters in nearly identical pose throughout (it’s difficult to get them back into the same pose if I were to move them just for the sake of moving them around >.>;;;). Though I did try to spice things up here and there! Anyway, enough of talking, let’s get to the shots!
So I started off with the Day white fluorescent since it has the 79% lead from the survey yesterday at figure.fm.
While it may be slightly better than the auto white balance, but the tint of amber/yellow is bothering me somewhat so I know I have to do something to get rid of that yellow tint….
So I went into Camera Control Pro to try to fine tune some white balance settings so I can maximize the ability of my Nikon D5000
Nikon D5k + Camera Control Pro and Hikari Photo Studio Upgrade
by Wolfheinrich on Oct.16, 2009, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen, Photo Shoot & Review
It’s been a little over a month since I have made the jump to the rank of entry level DSLR with the recent purchase of Nikon D5000, and I have to say I am very pleased with the result I have been able to achieve with the Nikon D5000 so far. Some of the photos I have taken with my dollfie daughters outdoor were quite a bit better than what I was able to achieve with my old Sony DSC-F707. However, indoor photo has remained to be a challenge up to this point. With the weather turning cold, it has become increasing unlikely that I can take my dollfie daughters outside again this year. So it was time to finally invest in a continuous light umbrella set.
I didn’t want to spend a lot of money so I was definitely looking for some sort of a bargain so I ended up picking Steve Kaeser ProStudio Light Kit 600 watt from Amazon.com. The Light Kit came with everything for me to get started:
- High output “COOL-FLO” fluorescent bulbs equivalent to 300 watts incandescent each, total 600 watts
- Pro umbrella holders with umbrella mounts, 12′ Power Cord and On/Off Switch.
- SK306 light stands extends 6 1/2 feet, made from aluminum alloy with black matte finish.
- Pro 32″ Pro umbrella white/black, softens and diffuses the light.
The kit actually arrived several days ago but one of the daylight bulb was dead on arrival, I contacted the shop Cowboy Studio and asked for a replacement bulb, they sent one to me without asking a second question, good service. And here we have a couple of photos with different light setup and white balances:
