I have been planning a Christmas Theme Photo shoot for some time now, I even picked up a few Santa girl outfit from the Volks Store about a month ago, but the filming of the last edition of the Dollfie Dream Theater (a whopping 46 frames story) has pushed the Christmas Theme Shooting out to the very last minute…. and coinciding with the arriving of my 10th Dollfie Dream Daughter just right before Christmas, I have prepared a special treat for you all~ please enjoy~

Natsuki wasn’t suppose to arrive until next year according to Volks USA schedule, I guess they somehow beat their own schedule by a month, not that I am complaining… I would much rather being able to spend Christmas with all 10 daughters instead of 9 :)

Been quiet for the past couple of days, but I finally started to feel better for the past day so I decided to catch this chance to go out with my Dollfie Daughters again.  The main objective this time was to correct a few oversights I had in the last outing so I had to take DD Asuka アスカ and DD Rin 遠坂 凛 out again, but that would be a tad too dry just to keep taking photos of those two so I decided to take DD Saber out with me as well.

In case you haven’t gotten the chance to catch up the storyline of Dollfie Dream Theater X Melancholy of Saber Lily; a joint effort between blogging friend Lightning Sabre and I, you can catch the last episode Vision of Escalayer at Lightning Sabre’s 4koma site The Melancholy of Saber Lily.  This new episode is more or less running in parallel with Vision of Escalayer so you will have at least catch up on that to understand what’s going on.  So, without further ado, let me bring you the next chapter of Dollfie Dream Theater X Melancholy of Saber Lily!

Well, I guess luck is on my side after all.  We have a decent weather here in the Midwest and it’s only partly cloudy so the Sun was out most of the day.  So I got to live up to my promise and took my girls out for another photo shoot back at the wonderful flower bed.  I am so happy that I am no longer limited by the memory of the camera, I shot most RAW + JPG today and I got to say it’s a breath of fresh air to be able to do that without any worries!  This is the first time I shot with the RAW format and I got to say, it’s just amazing!  All the exposure and color temperature information are recorded and I can tweak it very easily with the ViewNX software that came with my camera.  A less than perfect shot due to cloud shading is easily fixed with the ViewNX software!  I took a little over 200 shots today but a lot of them were test shots with varying parameters and angle, I think about 10% of them came out just the way I wanted it.  So, without further ado, let me share some of this new set of photos with you, hopefully you would enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking them!

First, let me introduce my new model for the day!  My fifth daughter Rin Tohsaka!

It’s difficult to get a direct shot of Rin without her hair getting in the way, so I have taken a lot more side way shots.

Well I said something along the line of taking some Dollfie out for a photoshoot if the weather was nice, the weather wasn’t exactly perfect, was mostly cloudy but I got to catch every chance I can get to take as many photos outside as possible.  The weather is starting to change and I have already noticed some summer flowers had already died out >.>;

While I haven’t really had that much time to practice the use of my new DSLR, I have got to do what I can manage for now.   But this time is a bit different, I wanted to focus on Asuka so I only took one Dollfie Dream out with me today.  So, once again, I have returned to the flower bed almost a month later, only this time it wasn’t as easy to put Asuka on top of the manhole cover as it was a month ago (plus there were other people in the office building so I didn’t want to spend too much time there).  I ended up only taking a few shots and moved on to my next spots >.>;

A few of the photos turned out ok,  I am quite happy with the resolution this new camera can deliver.  I can see very coarse pixels when I zoom in with my old setup but the new camera changed everything!  I still have yet to understand all the bells and whistles of the D5000 though, but so far I am more than happy with my purchase!  One of the advantage of the new camera is the increased resolution, I kept everything at 4288X2848, click on it and it should bring up the original from my flickr account.

Ever since I saw the coverage of the I Doll event on Dannychoo.com, I have been searching for the appropriate sized henshin belt for my dollfie daughters.  The search has expanded into one of my main objectives to accomplish for my Japan visit.  It was not an easy search, but I have finally tracked down the source of that Decadedriver that Rin was wearing in the I Doll event.  That belt is actually made by Bandai candy division and it’s called the Masked Rider Decade Kit1, that kit is already out of stock every store I went to in Japan, the only trace of it was the Diend version of the candy toy Masked Rider Decade Kit2 in Yodobashi Camera west store in Shinjuku.  It was by pure luck that I noticed it because I was not looking for Diend driver.  Among other things I was able to verified was the fact that the Kamen Rider Belt Tribute set that are currently being sold by Hobby Link Japan on sale are also perfect fit for Dollfie Dream, I picked up a bunch of those during my trip to Akihabara.

And here are some photos of how they fit with my dollfie daughters:

Time is ticking away as my planned Japan trip is slated to happen tomorrow, assuming my standby ticket status remain positive.  However, due to some weather problem, my standby ticket status is in a little jeopardy at this point.  I remain cautiously optimistic that I should be in Japan on Wednesday.  Anyway, before my trip, I managed to finish a project that started almost a month ago.  Here I present to you the Dollfie Dream Theater EP02, a continuation of the last episode (for those of you who have not read the last episode, please follow this link Dollfie Dream Theater EP01).  A slight surprise will be waiting for you at the end of the story!

It’s been a few days since I submitted my 2nd Dollfie daughter Asuka to the figure.fm x Hobby Link Japan sponsored Miss Dollfie Summer 2009 pageant contest.  I initially submitted my 1st daughter Escalayer’s entry but due to time constraint I didn’t do a very good job on the entry.  Now that the time period has been extended, I sort of feel the need to go back and do another special session with Escalayer because I felt I had put more effort into Asuka’s entry and it isn’t fair to Escalayer.

Timing is tight so I had to fired up Hikari Photo Studio and took us to a more exotic location for a special photo session!

After two days of running in and out for outdoor photographs, I have finally managed to collect enough photos to put my 2nd daughter Asuka into the Miss Dollfie Summer 2009 pageant contest.  Once again, in the spirit of participation, I will be sending my 2nd daughter into the contest!

My 2nd entry for the contest, my 2nd fairest daughter (She is 2nd only because she is younger. Not 2nd best!) – Asuka!

[*] How old are they
Asuka was adopted on May 12th, 2009, she is a little younger than Escalayer but she is also about 18 years old.
[*] What they like doing
Presenting here, is my 2nd daughter, but not exactly your everyday Dollfie, Asuka actually has a part time job in a Meido Cafe (to help with all the Dollfie expenses, she uses the Hikari Photo Studio to go to work).  She never brag about it and have been keeping it a secret from the younger Dollfie because she doesn’t want the young ones to worry about her.  She seems bossy in front of all of my daughters but deep inside she cares deeply about everyone.
[*] Favorite food
Wood fired brick oven baked pizza
[*] The first word that they said to you
Baka!  You should have adopted me sooner and saved me from this box a long time ago!
[*] Why your daughter is the fairest of them all
My 2nd daughter Asuka is hard working, intelligent and very thoughtful.  She is actually very shy about showing her true feelings in front of all of my other daughters but deep inside she is a very caring sister.

Since Danny is kind enough to give us more time to prepare for the Miss Dollfie Summer 2009 pageant as I have talked about yesterday, I have decided to at least put one more daughter through the contest in the spirit of participation (actually, Asuka has been mad at me for not putting her in the contest; since I have more time now, I don’t have any excuse not to put her in!).  I have greatly enjoyed the experience so far and I got to see my daughters in a different light than the usual indoor environment.  My camera is kind of old and can’t store a lot of images at a time so I ended up having to do multiple runs to take all the photos I wanted… I still wanted to take more photos… may be I have to invest in a new camera after all >.>;

Today is the 2nd day that I have taken my daughters out, one of the destinations was actually a forest preserve type fishing ground with a view of a small lake.

DSC02421

And here I took a few group shots of my daughters with a view of the lake in the background!  It’s been very very hot in Chicago during the past 2 days (close to 98F to 100F), it’s actually quite a tiring event >.>;
