OTACOOL Room Photo Submission
by Wolfheinrich on Jul.19, 2009, under About me, Otaku Home screen
It seems that Kotobukiya and Danny have been working closely to bring about more synergy between figurine manufacturer and us collectors through Danny’s newly launched figure.fm; Kotobukiya loves the otaku room photos that were submitted to the 20090326 giveaway so much that they are planning to publish a book based on otaku room photos named – OTACOOL. In response to Danny’s call to submit new photos, I once again took out my digital camera and started snapping photos of my command center!
It seems that somehow, my Dollfie daughters and Hikari photo studio managed to get on the cover! Well, it’s not the finalized version it is quite cool already!
Anyway, I snapped a bunch of photos and hopefully some of them will get picked for the book! To be honest here, I never was ready to take good photos during the giveaway since I was literally buried in junk before, I guess it really took 4 months to completely reorganize my room to a point where I can safely take photos of it without embarrassing myself in front of everyone.
Tsuki-Board
by Wolfheinrich on Apr.05, 2009, under Otaku Home screen
I have heard about Tsuki-Board for quite sometime now but I never knew what it was until I read about it in Animatic Figmation last night. I never knew there is such a huge community of figurine collectors out there, but now I know all thanks to the detail blog page by Persocom. I quickly joined the board and updated my profile with my collection, however, I was unable to find 30 or so figures out of my collection. Some of them are probably too old to be on the list, some of them are pre-painted resin figures from a few years back, although I am seeing a few recent one being listed.
Feel free to go check out my profile
Chu x Chu Idol – Hiyori arc completed
by Wolfheinrich on Mar.15, 2009, under Eroge PC Game, Otaku Home screen
So I finally completed the Hiyori arc last night, it was good… better than I thought it would be (I played too many dark eroge, a light hearted love story is a good change of pace). Now Chu x Chu is not a new game anymore, it was released back in 2007. It didn’t catch my attention then, the only reason why I decided to play the game was because of the numerous reviews I came across on Hiyori Pixie figure by GSC. The pose is graceful, the facial expression is charming and the costume or lack thereof, plus the ability to cast off. I usually prefer figurine with long hair but she will do fine without it and make it up via other departments.
So my quest began to find out more details on Hiyori Pixie (because of my stubboness, I insist on finding out as much information as possible on every figurine I have). I am tempted to talk about the whole game since I have pretty much understood 90% of the game but the fact that I only completed the Hiyori arc and have no intention to finish the whole game, may be I should just stick to the Hiyori’s arc.
Spoiler warning
Loot of the Month March 10, 2009
by Wolfheinrich on Mar.11, 2009, under Otaku Home screen
Went out drinking in a local Rock Bottom Brewer with a colleague until 11:00pm, got home and found this pile of loots coming from HLJ, Hobby Search and BeNippon!
Now the Alteisen Riese, Auβenseiter, and Dygenguar are pretty much self explanatory so let’s not waste time on them until I finish building them. Lets move on the the books.

Replicant, G's Magazine March, G's Festival Vol. 15, the Saber Portrait and sneaking in the middle like a mouse is the Rin/Archer optical mini mouse
I am not a regular reader of Replicant, but with a Saber Lily on the cover can only lead to one result: Click to buy.
Next up are the G’ses, they never disappointed me and this time is no exception.
There have been enough coverage of the Honey Moon Box that I don’t think I need to do it again here. Now, the G’s Magazine comes with a little pencil board of the gorgeous looking Feena on front side, Cynthia Marguerite a Moonlight Cradle excluive character on the back, very nice looking indeed. And with the G’s Comic Vol. 5 received late last month. I say I got all the bases covered for all the Feena merchandise this time around!
Then there is the Saber portrait, quite a few pictures have been circulating in the Internet cloud, a very special book if you consider yourself a Saber Fan.
And last, but not least… is the Rin/Archer mini usb mouse!
Besides my well publicized interest in Saber, I am also very fond of Rin the devil. Unlimited Blade Work is still my favorite arc of the Fate/stay night visual novel. Too bad that there aren’t as many merchandise on Rin as there are in Saber >.>
A few more things that are on their way here, there is Queen’s Blade Alice from Megahouse, all thanks to comrade twu from Theinfernoproject that I decided to check an ebay seller with tons of inventory. The trick is to get Alice delivered to me without any damage >.>, we will see about that one. Comrade Optic over in http://thedisjointedzone.com kindly informed us over in DC that there is a Megami Super Deluxe floating around with the best illustrations from vol. 1 to vol. 100, just what the doctor’s ordered! I tried to snatch a copy at HLJ immediately but now it’s showing to be on backorder >.> 1/7 Teana Lanster PVC from Alter is also on her way.
Second Photo Shoot for Ryoko Asakura Bunny
by Wolfheinrich on Mar.07, 2009, under Otaku Home screen, Photo Shoot & Review
Practice makes perfect right? That’s what they always says. Well, that’s exactly what I am going to do! Thanks for the kind words from twu, I pulled myself together and did another photo session with Ryoko Bunny. Why Ryoko Bunny again? For comparision sakes of course! The setup this time is slightly different, I free up more space in my crafting table and was able to position Ryoko a little further away from the light diffusion box. The diffusion material this time is wax paper you use for microwave (no tracing paper) instead of the matt laxen film I was using last time. The camera is still the same old Sony Cybershot DSC F707. I have adjusted some settings in my camera also, the shooting mode is portrait. And here is the result
Once again, any comments and suggestions are welcome
Revised lighting effect 01
by Wolfheinrich on Mar.04, 2009, under Otaku Home screen, Photo Shoot & Review
Seems like the first photo shoot didn’t quite make it to the cut, but let’s try again, this time with dimmer lighting.
Hopefully, there will be more response this time!
What’s your opinion, too bright (unlikely), too dim? or Just right? Before I started snapping away megabytes of pictures, it may be better to seek some opinion!
Saint Seiya Zippo Lighter Collection
by Wolfheinrich on Feb.26, 2009, under Otaku Home screen, Product review
A collection of nice looking Saint Seiya Zippo Lighter has popped up in my radar screen. Anyone remember Saint Seiya or Knight of the Zodiac as it is called in the US? It was a big hit way back in the mid-80s. Back then there weren’t many good anime to choose from, I had to apply to special rental club in order to get access new release Japanese Anime; fan subtitle, Internet? They didn’t exist back then lol. Saint Seiya was a big enough hit that TVB decided to license the series and dub the entire series in cantonese. The animation did not finish the Hades chapter back then but it was recently release as OVA
Rumor has it that Saint Seiya will be going online some time in 2009, so as Dragon Ball, I am sure more will be coming. MMO is certainly becoming more main stream gaming than ever following the sucess of World of Warcraft, and to a lesser degree Final Fantasy XI. There is huge revenue potential if they do it right.
Priced at 10000 yen each and can be pre-order at Hobby Search
Figure Collection Topic – Dust off
by Wolfheinrich on Feb.21, 2009, under Figure Collection Topic, Otaku Home screen
I would really like to hear how you all fellow collectors try to keep dust out of your figure collection. Personally, I have been using this particular 3M product for many years.
Originally, I use this to protect my precious poster from dirt and dust, day to day wear and tear. But when my figure collection grew from just a couple to over a hundred, it’s starting to get out of hand. And since most of my earlier collection were made from polystone or cold cast resin, its better off that I don’t touch them at all (since they are rather rigid and brittle). The result is like this:
I use the double sided tape to tape off the top, left and right side of my bookshelves, leaving the bottom side open for easy access. This solution does not completely eliminate dust, but it cut it down quite well.
Edit: Add more pictures
Added My Room Page
by Wolfheinrich on Feb.05, 2009, under Otaku Home screen
A little bit unorganized right now, but I am slowly learning how to do this right. I took pictures of the current PVC and custom painted figures from E2046 and Hobbyfan collection, most of my PVC figures were acquired through either HLJ or Hobby Search that I spent many years to collect.
