I have been after the Saber Alter dress ever since I got into the world of Dollfie Dream, but for some reason the dress has always eluded me in one way or another.. whether it was losing out on the bidding war or the set was incomplete.. anyway, a few weeks ago I spotted an auction for an after market look-alike to Saber Alter’s costume for DDDy body, I wasted little time to try to get my hands on it.  The package has arrived today and I am too excited for words so I have my first daughter Escalayer tried it out immediately!

The dress came well packaged and is lined with white cloth all the way inside so I don’t think I have to worry about staining, but I will do my due diligence and inspect Escalayer after 24 hours~

It felt like it’s been forever since the last time I talk about eroge game now, perhaps it has to do with the fact that the last Illusion game Yuusha Kara Wa Nigerarenai was too much of a failure for me to even spend any time on it.  Anyway, what I am going to talk about this time is the Alicesoft 20th Anniversay Project: Alice 2010.  The same company that brought us awesome games such as Mamatoto, Beat Angel Escalayer, Sengoku Rance, Daiakuji, Big Bang Age, Beat Blade Haruka and Toushin Toshi 3.

I have been a fan of Alicesoft games for many many years now, most of their games are very fun to play, challenging and require some level of fluency in Japanese before you can play effectively, not to mention most of their heroines are drop dead gorgeous!  Every now and then, Alicesoft would do a fandisk release call the Alice Mansion, which contain a collection of omake stuff, songs, short stories etc.  The year 2010 is Alicesoft’s 20th anniversary and they have prepared to go with a bang!  Let’s take a brief look at what they have to offer!

Here we have Alicesoft’s mascot, Alice in her modern look; she has received many face lifts over the past 20 years or so, and needless to say, she is still one of the most kawaii eroge game company mascot around!

Thank you for those who has taken the time to provide some valuable feedback to me regarding the Hikari Photo Studio upgrade (in reality, just an exercise to fine tune my Nikon D5000 for indoor photography by using the Nikon Software Camera Control Pro 2.5 along with my Cowboy Studio light umbrella set) , special thanks to figure.fm comrades Otaku Dan, Rochefort Schubaltz, Tequila and Koshiko for providing valuable opinions for me to improve my Hikari Photo Studio.  I spent the better part of today making various adjustments based on those feedback and I’m back to report the progress I have made so far!  For comparison sake, most of these shots feature my lovely daughters in nearly identical pose throughout (it’s difficult to get them back into the same pose if I were to move them just for the sake of moving them around >.>;;;).  Though I did try to spice things up here and there!  Anyway, enough of talking, let’s get to the shots!

So I started off with the Day white fluorescent since it has the 79% lead from the survey yesterday at figure.fm.

While it may be slightly better than the auto white balance, but the tint of amber/yellow is bothering me somewhat so I know I have to do something to get rid of that yellow tint….

So I went into Camera Control Pro to try to fine tune some white balance settings so I can maximize the ability of my Nikon D5000

Weather has turned pretty cool in the past couple of days here in the Windy City, so it’s time to sleep in and spend some more quality time with my daughters!  Another large shipment of Dollfie Clothes arrived on Saturday morning…. and it was decision time… with the growing collection of new clothes arriving, it was getting extremely difficult to resist the prospect of taking new photos with my daughters with some of the new clothes….. and I eventually caved in.  While I still wanted to wait until the Dollfie Dream Theater to catch up on the storyline before unveiling the majority of the new clothes, let’s take a small peek for now!  Experimenting with some new settings with the camera, seems like the result is pretty decent.

Time is ticking away as my planned Japan trip is slated to happen tomorrow, assuming my standby ticket status remain positive.  However, due to some weather problem, my standby ticket status is in a little jeopardy at this point.  I remain cautiously optimistic that I should be in Japan on Wednesday.  Anyway, before my trip, I managed to finish a project that started almost a month ago.  Here I present to you the Dollfie Dream Theater EP02, a continuation of the last episode (for those of you who have not read the last episode, please follow this link Dollfie Dream Theater EP01).  A slight surprise will be waiting for you at the end of the story!

It’s been a few days since I submitted my 2nd Dollfie daughter Asuka to the figure.fm x Hobby Link Japan sponsored Miss Dollfie Summer 2009 pageant contest.  I initially submitted my 1st daughter Escalayer’s entry but due to time constraint I didn’t do a very good job on the entry.  Now that the time period has been extended, I sort of feel the need to go back and do another special session with Escalayer because I felt I had put more effort into Asuka’s entry and it isn’t fair to Escalayer.

Timing is tight so I had to fired up Hikari Photo Studio and took us to a more exotic location for a special photo session!

Figure.fm, another community site under Dannychoo.com has been buzzing with activities lately.  The latest contest, sponsored by the good folks at Hobby Link Japan is Miss Dollfie Summer 2009!  Among the prizes are a very neat looking black gothic style dress and a ToHeart 2 uniform set!

The details of the contest are as follow:

All your daughter has to do is post 3 different sets of photos of herself. Rules time:-

• Inspired by Miss World contests, I’m looking for 3 types of photos of your daughter:-
  • Swim wear, bikini, underwear or slip. If your daughter does not have underwear then their hands should be stylishly covering their v-zone and pupils.
  • Casual or default costume – the costume that came with your Dollfie.
  • Outdoor.
• You can enter up to 3 of your daughters – one daughter per post.
• Each post should have the 3 different types of photos.
  So if you are entering 3 of your daughters then you will post 3 times – each post will have the bikini, casual and outdoor photos.
• I never got round to finishing the Dollfie Day thing that I was in the middle of doing over at DC so will be asking you to give details of your daughters again which are:-
  • How old are they
  • What they like doing
  • Favorite food
  • The first word that they said to you
  • Why your daughter is the fairest of them all

To be honest here, I am doing this for the sake of participation more than anything since I don’t really have casual dresses for my dollfie daughters.  However, it’s a good excuse to take my daughters outside for some photos, some of them are actually pretty good!  I wish I had more time to prepare for more outdoor photos of my daughters, since I have been busy writing up the ToHeart 2 summary for Kusugawa Sasara, otherwise I would have sent more of my daughters in for the competitions!

So in response to Danny’s call for a Dollfie Day celebration, I once again took Escalayer out of her home and take a special photo of her and her little sister Escalayer-chan. The reason why this is special because both Escalayer and Escalayer chan are from Volks ^^; I have long wanted to take a photo of them both together, so today seems like a good day to do it.

I am still struggling with poor artificial lighting so I didn’t take many photos this time, hopefully I would be able to resolve that situation in the next couple of months >.>;

Nevertheless, I would like to take this chance to properly thank Dannychoo for bringing me to this wonderful world of Dollfie Dream, without Danny’s influence and Dannychoo.com, I probably wouldn’t have went down this path of being a Dollfie Dream collector.  My wallet and saving account are both complaining like mad, but I have no regret for going down this path because Dollfie Dream are beyond that, the awesomeness of having your favorite bishoujo character in 1/3 scale is way too cool to be calculated in dollars.

Not really ground breaking news, but I noticed just the other day that Beat Blade Haruka is going for an OVA release; it’s been well over a year since the game was released back in Feburary 2008, not sure why it took so long for Alicesoft to push through the release.   Platinium Milky would be doing the animation portion, and if my memory is correct, this will be the first Alicesoft title release through them.  Anyway, based on the information I was able to gather from Getchu, the first DVD is scheduled to hit the street on August 25.

It seems the story has been somewhat altered in order to introduce Narika onto the scene.  In game, Haruka broke down because of battle fatique, and therefore prompted Narika to step up to the plate to become a Sennin.  However, in the OVA, we will see Haruka being captured by one of the monsters instead

That reminded me that I never finished Narika’s arc lol, may be I should go do that before the OVA hit the street.  For some reason, Beat Blade Haruka just couldn’t manage to recreate the same gaming experience as Beat Angel Escalayer (for me at least) even though they are based off the same engine.  Anyway, I would be looking forward to seeing this new OVA release coming August :3

Despite my main computer went down, loots have been arriving non stop for the past week… now that my computer is fixed, it’s finally time to reveal the result of my Dollfie Dream Completion Project.  I borrowed the name “completion project” from Evangelion, straightly in a sense, trying to “rescue” the lovely Dollfie Dream from their original boxes and adopt them as my musumes!

Just who are the mysterious Dollfie Dream?  You about to find out (not like my picture didn’t give them away lol).
