Wolfhinrich’s World First Anniversary
by Wolfheinrich on Feb.05, 2010, under Dollfie Dream, Eroge PC Game, Figure Collection Topic, Otaku Home screen, Photo Shoot & Review, Project
Like a blink of an eye really, one whole year has gone by and I have finally achieved one of the major milestone of any bloggers – hitting the first anniversary! I must thank you for all of your support, visits, clicks, comments and encouragement! Looking back when I first started blogging, my original goal was to introduce myself to the worldwide of Otaku that I – Wolfheinich exists here! I think I have mentioned in the past, I was very much like a closet otaku, I have little real life friends that share my interest, I have no way to share my joy of unpacking my new figures or do I have anyone to converse with how cute this 2D girl is or what not. What I desire most, is to seek out to like minded otaku who can share my interest, making new friends.
Stumbling onto Dannychoo.com was a major turning point for me, I never knew there is an online community like that before! After spending a few days on Danny’s site, I decided I too want to become a blogger so I can really introduce myself to the community. After one whole year, I am confident to say that I have achieved way more than what I had in mind. I have made a bunch of new friends, gotten into Dollfie Dream (which is like the greatest thing since sliced bread), and even traveled to Japan to see Odaiba Gundam, Kamen Rider Decade and Evangelion 2.0 movie with fellow Dannychoo member Fumoffu.
Let’s take a quick look at the transformation that Wolfheinrich’s World has gone thru in the past year! I really had no idea what to blog about at the beginning, so I started off with a my room post soon after I began! (continue reading…)
Windows Home Server – Home Computer Restore
by Wolfheinrich on Dec.20, 2009, under Otaku Home screen, Project
I finally did it, one of the most demanding experiments in qualifying Windows Home Server is to actually put the Home Computer Restore to use and completely restore a damaged partition table across my home network. I didn’t plan on actually having to do this but I was playing around with the MBR on my main xp machines and in the process… damaged the partition table. So, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to actually put the Windows Home Server on the spotlight and see if it can actually do what it says it can do.
Otaku Project: Building of my first multimedia home server
by Wolfheinrich on Dec.12, 2009, under Otaku Home screen, Project
It seems I haven’t been posting much lately, part of the reason has to do with the fact that my room is kind of in a disarray right now because I have been in the process of building my first multimedia file server. Why do I need a file server? Good question, with the ever increasing storage requirement for a modern day Otaku, may it be MP3 files, DVD images, etc, and the need to keep my data safe from potential hard drive crashes, I need to have a dedicated storage solution capable of storing and retrieving multiple terabytes of data with some level of redundancy in mind.
Over the years, I have gone through difference phases of backing up my valuable data. I have tried burning CD-R when they were first introduced, I have gone the DVD writable routes for a short time (that didn’t last very long because I soon find it very difficult to organize my data) , at the end of the day, removable media is just not my kind of storage system; and on top of all that, consumer grade writable optical disc is just don’t seem reliable enough for me to consider it as a viable backup solution (and I am too lazy to search through stacks of DVD to find what I want
).
Dollfie Dream saddle stand DIY version 1
by Wolfheinrich on Jul.13, 2009, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen, Project
Tonight I would like to interrupt your regular programming with another special edition of Otaku Project, this time we going to make a DIY Dollfie Dream saddle stand. Why do I want to make my own Dollfie Dream stand when I can just buy one off the shelf? For one, good quality doll stand cost a bomb! For the budget conscious dollfie papa or mama, it’s a huge burden. Secondly, the good stand is always out of stock! So even if you want to buy one, it’s easier said than done!
For far too long, the bended type C saddle stand that I wanted is constantly out of stock!
And for far too many times, poor Nanoha has fallen on her face.
Ikea Detolf Dioder Project Final Phase
by Wolfheinrich on Jun.25, 2009, under Figure Collection Topic, Otaku Home screen, Project
Exactly a month ago on the Memorial Day weekend, I started that Ikea Detolf Dioder Project in which I have finally managed to install the much needed lighting system to my Ikea Detolf, however, I left a vital part of the project unfinished on that day – to manage the exit wiring harness.

I really didn’t know what to do at that time, first each of the Dioder has the exact length power cable toward the transformer, meaning by the time the I finish routing the cables inside the Detolf, the exit wire length would be different for each of the cable. See the power adapter hanging in the middle of the air? Just bloody awful looking >.>;
Belkin Conserve Surge Protector with Remote Switch
by Wolfheinrich on Jun.22, 2009, under Otaku Home screen, Product review, Project
Today, I would like to bring you another edition of Otaku Project, which is more or less a continuation of the last project Ikea Dioder Cable Management. During the last project, I decided to finally clean up the wiring mess that has been hiding behind my entertainment center for better part of one year; and by the end of the project, I was able to clean up that whole mess and organized it into a manageable form, mission accomplished! However, the victory was short lived, I soon realized that I really wanted more than 6 outlets to be controlled by one outlet strip so I decided to stop by HomeDepot to shop for a new outlet strip. As I was browsing through the whole selection of outlet strips, big and small, something really caught my attention. The Belkin Conserve Surge Protector with Remote Switch.

Ikea Dioder cable management
by Wolfheinrich on Jun.14, 2009, under Otaku Home screen, Project
With the growing number of Ikea Dioder being deployed in my room, so as the wire management nightmare that comes with it. I am not sure how other people manage the wiring of their Ikea Dioder, were they hidden behind some cabinet and never to be seen? Well for me, I need to turn off the dioder at night so I get can to sleep easily so the outlet strip is in a fairly visible location so I can turn it off with a single switch; but the wire mess that has grown over time has finally broke the last straw on me. I have decided to clean it up with some cable management product.
The following picture is the wire mess before the clean up.
Dollfie Dream Rin Tosaka and school uniform get!
by Wolfheinrich on May.29, 2009, under Dollfie Dream, Otaku Home screen, Project
Updating from my “flamethrower” Prescott again… Well I finally decided to ditch the Dell train and be a free man… just went to newegg.com and ordered myself a
Cooler Master RC690
and a Gigabyte Intel P43 ATX motherboard
Hopefully, I will be running at full strength again sometime next week.
On the brighter side of the note, I have just been notified by Volks International that I have won the lottery! Dollfie Dream Rin Tosaka and her school uniform are finally mine! They almost make it sounds they they are ready to send her out to me.. perhaps she will arrive before Dollfie Fate that I won in the Volks USA lottery, what an ironic twist of “fate” that is. Perhaps an update to my Dollfie Dream Completion Project page after I recovered from this motherboard failure.
Asuka Langley Soryu 造形補完計画 (Shapeup Completion Project)
by Wolfheinrich on May.24, 2009, under Figure Collection Topic, Otaku Home screen, Project
It’s been ages since I have acquired the Amie-Grand Asuka in summerwear, I have always liked her but there is a serious problem with this PVC figure…
Overall, this is a fairly nice Asuka figure, nice facial expression (I like the deredere Asuka), the painting is good, just about everything is good except this figure can’t stand straight! Like I have talked about in one of my earlier figure collection topic. This figure has tortmented me for ages and I have tried various different techniques to try keep her straight. I tried tipping her over, putting something under her base and even tried to glue her feet down to the base. None of those techniques worked. While I was working on my Detolf Dioder project earlier today (This Asuka has always been inside the Detolf), I finally decided to put an end to this problem. But none of the previous techniques had worked before, what could I possibly do? But I am an Engineer, I have to figure out a way around the problem! Finally, it came to me… I need to pin her down like what people do with their resin kits!
My Ikea Detolf Dioder project
by Wolfheinrich on May.24, 2009, under Figure Collection Topic, Otaku Home screen, Project
Today is another very productive day in the Memorial Day weekdend. I finally got myself together to complete the Detolf Dioder project that I have been putting off for months. Unlike the current trend in the figurine collectors community, I have not been a huge fan of the Ikea Detolf due to it’s inability to adjust shelf height, and therefore, inefficient use of the precious little space that I have in my room (notice the huge empty space above the figurines above the 2nd shelf?). However, I do have a Detolf in the little corner of my room where it’s most suitable and I have finally decided to put the Ikea Dioder strip on it.
