Spotted this absolutely adorable Azone 1/3 Fate Testarossa MOVIE 1st version today at Hobby Search, that is due to release in August.  Even though I have not been a huge fan of the Azone lineup in the past, I have to say I am very much tempted to get this

As of writing of this post, the pre-order is still open but no idea for how long!

A few months ago, blogging comrade Blowfish asked me about how well has my figure collection aged through the years.  I promised him I would look into it because I just so happen to have a pair of identical figures that remained unopened for the past 6 years or so.  I am sorry Blowfish >.<;  I kept pushing this out and out and out and now I realized that I pushed it out for 4 months!  But today, I am going to make good on my promise and do what I said I was going to do 4 months ago!  Here I present to you the pair of Pia Carrot 3 Hasegawa Akemi Floral Mint Type made by Kotobukiya back in January 2004.  The figure on the your right hand has been opened since the day it arrived at my house but it has been under the protection of my dust shield since there; on the other hand, the figure on your left has stayed in the box during this entire time, no accidental exposure to Ultraviolet light, minimum contact with air, etc.

I have always considered Ultraviolet light and oxygen the two biggest enemies to my figure collection, so I have made it a point to never expose my figure collection under direct sunlight for an extended period of time since it can cause chemical reactions to the PVC or painted surfaces of the figure.  Oxygen on the other hand, is an extreme active agent that can react with just about anything, including but not limited to paint, plastic, metal given enough time.  Obviously, I cannot eliminate oxygen since I do not have a vacuum sealed display cabinet, but I have taken steps to slow down the oxidation process by restricting airflow to my figure collection through my Dust Shield +1. Like a blink of an eye really, one whole year has gone by and I have finally achieved one of the major milestone of any bloggers – hitting the first anniversary!  I must thank you for all of your support, visits, clicks, comments and encouragement!  Looking back when I first started blogging, my original goal was to introduce myself to the worldwide of Otaku that I – Wolfheinich exists here!  I think I have mentioned in the past, I was very much like a closet otaku, I have little real life friends that share my interest, I have no way to share my joy of unpacking my new figures or do I have anyone to converse with how cute this 2D girl is or what not.  What I desire most, is to seek out to like minded otaku who can share my interest, making new friends.

Stumbling onto Dannychoo.com was a major turning point for me, I never knew there is an online community like that before!  After spending a few days on Danny’s site, I decided I too want to become a blogger so I can really introduce myself to the community.  After one whole year, I am confident to say that I have achieved way more than what I had in mind.  I have made a bunch of new friends, gotten into Dollfie Dream (which is like the greatest thing since sliced bread), and even traveled to Japan to see Odaiba Gundam, Kamen Rider Decade and Evangelion 2.0 movie with fellow Dannychoo member Fumoffu.

Let’s take a quick look at the transformation that Wolfheinrich’s World has gone thru in the past year!  I really had no idea what to blog about at the beginning, so I started off with a my room post soon after I began! View Full Article »

Well, it’s still December 31st here where I live and I would like to wrap up this year by doing a photo shoot for the “just arrived” 1/4 Pre-painted Kos-Mos version 4 (Happy New Year to the folks in Eastern Hemisphere though!).  I have always been a fan of Kos-Mos and the Xenosaga series, version 4 in particular is my favorite.  Over the years, there had been rarely any good Kos-Mos figure, the Happinet version was fairly close but the expression seemed a bit too blank, the Alter 1/7 version was ok but the face sculpt really didn’t deliver for me, but I think my favorite version up to this point is the Alter 1/6 Kos-Mos Swimsuit version.  The facial expression was still a little bit off for my taste but that was the closest we got so far.  It will probably take this brand new 1/4 Kos-Mos to dethrone the best sculpted Kos-Mos crown from Alter.   This 1/4 Kos-Mos will stand up to 18 inches from the resting surface to the tip of the Gatling gun, so be prepared to free up some space!  As usual with Gathering Pre-Painted resin, paint job is done very nicely, the sculpt is clean and well defined.  It’s pretty easy to put her together.  As good as it looks though, this version I have ordered is not without flaws (which we will discuss later), but from the overall appearances and attention to details, this is still the best looking Kos-Mos figure I have to-date.  So, without further ado, let’s get started~

For the past week or so, I have been spending the majority of my time catching up on the White Album anime.  For those of you who are familiar with my habit, you are probably aware of what I am doing here.  My quest to understand the storyline for 森川 由綺 Morikawa Yuki and 緒方 理奈 Ogata Rina after their Dollfie Dream announcement.  Up to about episode 3-4, I am already completely captivated by the performance of Ogata Rina, whom I consider as one of the most awesome and attractive characters in my recent memory!  Needless to say, my 11th Dollfie Dream Daughter has already been decided, and it’s none other than Dollfie Dream Rina!  I am putting my name in the super early pre-order as soon as it’s up, despite the fact that I won’t see how she turns out!  You may also find the Dollfie Dream Rina banner in the side bar of my blog since a few days ago :D

Why am I making such an effort for this new girl Ogata Rina?  It’s simple, she is just that awesome!  “Most” anime in the past few seasons put too much emphasis on fan service and over emphasize on the “moe” factor and it’s getting very annoying for me to have to watch anime that lack a proper story, characters lack a proper personality and “progression”.  It’s very refreshing to see a buckle in this “moe” trend and see a character that literally captivated my heart from the beginning and continued to impress me every time she graced the screen (She is voiced by Nana Mizuki, I am sure that helped kicked it up a few notches there).  I think I might devote a topic to talk about her later.  In my personal opinion, Ogata Rina is beautiful, elegant, intelligent, talented and have more balls than all the men combined in the show! A few days ago, blogsphere comrade Tier celebrated his acquisition of the rare and limited edition of pre-painted version of the 1/4 Uesugi Kenshin from Volks A-brand.  I promised him to take a few pictures of my own 1/4 Gathering version for him to compare the finishing quality between the two.  That reminded me, I never quite taken pictures of my 1/4 army, might as well take this chance to snap a few pics eh?

For those of you who are not familiar just who this Uesugi Kenshin is, please take a look at one of my earlier post for the 1/5 Uesugi Kenshin Freeing version.  In 2007, in a survey done by Tech Gian, Kenshin narrowly defeated Saber from Fate Stay Night to become the most popular eroge game heroine of the year.  Enough talking, let’s dig in~

As usual, click on pictures to show full scale image~

I picked up this Kenshin a few years ago, obviously I haven’t gotten in Dollfie Dream then.  I have always treasured this Kenshin as the most elegant painted figure I have ever owned, like a goddess descended from heaven.

Seems like I have been making Dollfie Dream related posts a lot recently, so let’s break it up with something else~ What we have here is the 1/4 Fate T. Harlaown Swimsuit version that just arrived at the door today, I have been longing for this figure to pair her up with the previously released 1/4 Nanoha.  I wasted little time to take her out of the box and set her up for a photo shoot.

From the story stand point I personally prefer Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A’s but I have to say I am more attracted to the mature Fate in the StrikerS series~ It’s ok to say that right? Haha

Happy Halloween everyone~ While I may not be much of a Halloween person, but for the sake of the festivity spirit, I decided to take one of my Halloween costume figure for a little photo shoot, and a slight departure from my usual habit, there will be a NSFW image which will be hidden under a spoiler tag.  Without further ado, let’s get to it!

This is a painted resin figure that I acquired a few years ago around Halloween time, while I usually don’t buy figure without proper background story, I made up an excuse that she is a Halloween figure and therefore doesn’t require a background story!

Img0769

The neat thing about this figure was her magnetic cast off features and the blinking pumpkin, it’s difficult to see the pumpkin lid up with the setting right now but we will get to it in a bit~

I have been waiting for this day to come for the past 2 weeks or so, my 9th daughter, Dollfie Dream Airi has arrived at my residence today!  The fact that she arrived today, just a day after I watched Queen’s Blade 2nd Season Episode 5, where she played a major role in the story is just extra special to me.  I have always wanted to believe, despite the lack of screen time for Airi in Queen’s Blade Season 1 and Season 2 thus far, that she is more than just a life sucking assassin/ghostly maid, loyal servant to the Swamp Witch (I have yet to see this so call Swamp Witch to do anything evil by the way).  I was jumping overjoy that Airi is indeed a character worthy to become my daughter, for in depth review of the Queen’s Blade Season 2 Episode 5, please visit blogsphere comrade Smithy’s Blue Blue Wave.  Enough talk, let’s take a look at the loots~

October has so far proven to be one of most important months this year in terms of figure releases this year, we had Saber Lily from GSC which has lived up to the expectation we have come to expect.  Since there are already so many Saber Lily photo shoot and reviews, I don’t feel I can offer anymore than what is already out there.  However, another package I have been expecting arrived today, I was going to wait until Dollfie Airi arrive before doing another photo shoot; but once I opened the box, that idea of waiting for Dollfie Airi went right out the window!  Ever since the Rebuild of Evangelion movie hitting the theater this past summer, Evangelion 2.0: You can (not) advance, we have been getting a nice revival on the Evangelion merchandises, what we have is 1/6 Asuka Langley Shikinami Plug Suit Ver. from the good folks of Kotobukiya!  And this is most probably the cream of the crop of all the new merchandises, I kid you not.  My jaw dropped as soon as I opened the box from HLJ…. Oh my god, she is a beauty!  The box, the presentation, everything is top notch!  This is most definitely a few steps above the normal Kotobukiya releases!  One of the few Kotobukiya figures that actually look better in person than the promotional pictures!

Img0626_01

Isn’t she beautiful?  As a self proclaimed Asuka fan, this is most definitely a welcome addition to my collection of Asuka figures!  She is most probably the best looking Asuka in her plug suit PVC figure we have to-date!  Personally, I never felt we ever had a good Asuka plug suit PVC figure that I consider top notch but this is it!  Pretty soon I should do a photo shoot of my Asuka Collection~

More under the cut~
