I talked about writing an update post the other day, finally got around to do it now. To tell the truth, ever since I migrated to Windows 7, I have been on a scramble to get all the eroge games I love running; the fact that I have a huge pile of them sitting didn’t help at all! So on the top of the agenda this month was to tackle some of the games that I absolutely need to finish, such as Madou Souhei Kleinhasa and Fortune Arterial. One of my greatest fear before migrating to Windows 7 64bit edition was compatibility issues with all the legacy eroge games and all the support applications I use to play them. Luckily there were very few problems so far. Most the eroge games I want to keep running have been able to run so far; however, there were a few exceptions, most notably the new regional protection scheme being deployed by one of my favorite eroge game companies Triangle, their fierce regional protection scheme have left me in fear for quite some time.
In my last post on this topic, I talked about how I bypassed this regional protection scheme, by using the free Windows XP mode Japanese language edition, however that method is by no means perfect, most notably the color support is only up to 16bit and sound support also left a lot to be desired (a certain Austrian Otaku has pointed me in the right direction, which I will talk about in a little bit). After more thorough searches, I finally managed to locate a proper regional patch on a Chinese forum that will enable Madou Souhei Kleinhasa to run on a non-native Japanese OS (for whatever reason, it was never leaked back to the English forum such as Hongfire, no idea why it hasn’t happened yet).
Why do I care about this game so much you ask? Well, like I mentioned before, Triangle is quite famous for the line of Mahou Senshi games that I have been an advent follower for years. And when they come out with this gun packing mecha girls game, that is just not going to be missed!

Triangle is very famous for their “humiliation” genre but Kleinhasa took a completely different approach and has more “true love” elements in the game than most of their previous titles. But this is an eroge game after all, and what cannot be missed in a good eroge game is some good eroge scenes~
And Tentacles action~ “Warning, if you are not ready for tentacle action, move on~ well I think only registered user can see them anyway .”

And true love endings, after all, this is considered a “True Love” game from Triangle point of view.
And I finally managed to finish the game yesterday so it’s time to move on to my next agenda…. Fortune Arterial from August Soft. A couple weeks ago, just when I was in the middle of searching for a patch to run Kleinhasa on my Windows 7, I picked up a nasty rumor that Fortune Arterial doesn’t run well in 64 bit OS…. I immediately scrambled to confirm the rumor and it was true… for the life of me I could not get Fortune Arterial to run! I honestly do not know what is the difference between Fortune Arterial and Moonlight Cradle… both from the same company, but I got Moonlight Cradle to work…. I tried installing it on Windows XP mode, while it installed and launched ok, the sound support was just awful and I don’t think I want to keep running the game with the jittering music. Then I remember a certain Austrian Otaku had suggested that I should look at Virtual box from Sun Microsystem, well, why not, since I am running out of ideas anyway. The result is quite impressive, not only does it provide more advanced emulation support, in terms of processor power (it’s fixed in Virtual PC), full 32 bit color and Windows DirectSound, which is what we really need to run majority of eroge games anyway.
Actually, as of the writing of this post Sun Microsystem has already been acquired by Oracle, so hopefully they will continue to support such a great application. A list of supported operating system including various flavors of Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X and Windows.
So for the next couple of weeks, I will be focusing my effort to work on Fortune Arterial while waiting for the new Dollfie Dream info in Hometown Kyoto 7, only about a week away from the announcement now~

Maybe it was asked before but how do you play that game? There’s now English translation out so far right?
I’m glad you like Virtual Box.
It’s a great piece of software which gets not the attention it deserves. Hopefully they won’t drop Virtual box after the oracle deal.
(And as I’m nice today I don’t mention that I’d like to ask the Triangle staff why they didn’t ask a German speaking person if the text in the OP makes any sense at all.)

Virtualization is a common practice now in the IT world but it hasn’t picked up a lot of speed in the consumer market, but to be able to mix 64bit and 32bit computing in the same machine without having to reboot is a nice bonus. Some people still talk about dual-booting, that’s like taking us back in the stone age lol… Virtualization FTW!
Sorry about the weak German lol, but that doesn’t take any fun away from the tentacle action now, does it? The game is a basic AVG style, a few choices to be made and you just sit back to watch the story develop.

Were you able to see the hidden images? Somehow hidepost tag is behaving a bit different from what I am used to. Did you see the promo video? When the girls transform into their mecha form, their eyes changes to red.
Ah, okay, that makes sense. I didn’t see the video (literally; I have a Flash blocker enabled), but I see the pictures now. I downloaded the HCG pack a while back since the guy who runs Mou Yamete was spazzing out over the trial version of the game and I saw that it has tentacles. I’m quite partial to tentacles so I figured it was worth a look.
I know there’s zero chance that this game gets an anime adaptation, but I think it’d be really cool if it did. I mean, if Strike Witches can get aired, why not something like this? Minus the, uhh, double penetration themes and stuff, anyway.

First time I see Madou Souhei Kleinhasa eroge game. I heard about fortune arterial and since it doesnt have a language patch I dont know how to play it. anyway, I found the vid you provided very nice and both games are excellent!

fortune arterial certainly lived up to the hype for me… i thoroughly enjoyed pretty much every single girl’s route… and absolutely loved the final route that’s available after you go through everyone’s individual one ^^

About the game Madou Souhei Kleinhasa, I used the crack u had above to install the game with no trouble, but i could not play the game with alcohol 120% because it still says the game is for japan only somehow. any idea y? thx in advance.
